The impact of the pandemic reduced our volunteers down to 7 (previously 14) which enables us to patrol only on the busier last 2 weeks of each month instead of every Saturday. We started going out again in May 2021 after a lot of planning, including documentation of a full risk analysis. The first training session, covering all aspects of our work, was videoed and this was repeated as required. A new laptop had been purchased to ease this process. Though we have seen that the streets are quieter, the night-time economy is gradually getting back to normal. However, the nature of our work means that we could be involved with one person for 2/3 hours and could therefore be fully occupied even if the streets are quiet.
